About Me

I am a software engineer and creative technologist currently living in San Francisco, California.

Originally from Florida, I attended Reed College in Portland, Oregon, and received a degree in Russian language with a focus on linguistics and translation. You can view samples of my thesis work, translating and subtitling the works of the Soviet-Russian animator Vladimir Kobrin, here!

After living in Russia for a brief time, I moved to San Francisco both to pursue my interest in the burgeoning makerspace movement, and to live a more authentic life as a transgender individual.

In 2022, I seized upon many years working as a technical educator of rapid prototyping machinery, along with my professional experience crafting digital asset production workflows in the screenprinting industry, to pivot into the field of software engineering.

After completing Rithm School’s rigorous Full Stack Web Development course, I rejoined the organization as a full stack software engineer and teaching assistant. This role has provided a fulfilling harmony between my past experience as a technical instructor, and my drive to develop creative software solutions in an ever-changing technological landscape.

Since I began working at Rithm, I have optimized onboarding by streamlining our student dev environment setup and expanded our support for development under WSL. As part of my day-to-day, I maintain and expand test coverage for dozens of internal applications, manage teams on sprints, provide code reviews in the hundreds, and review features being merged in to our Django-based learning management system.

Beyond my work in software engineering, I remain committed to film as an artistic and technical passion. I have produced, shot, and edited multiple short films featured at the SF Transgender Film Festival and beyond, and am a founder and lead producer of the performance collective Media Meltdown. We currently host monthly screenings at the historic 4-Star Theater in the Richmond District of San Francisco and are working on a full-length film version of our celebrated stage work Select Thine Own Journey, a ‟must-see” (SF Gate) which enjoyed sold-out runs at SF Sketchfest and SF Oasis.
